Dance instruction--The Knights periodically sponsor ballroom dance lesson wih Brian and Renee Garcon on Sunday evenings. Beginners start at 6 pm and intermediate at 7 pm. The lessons are offered free in the social hall with donations accepted for the Room at the Inn campaign.
Parish picnic--Each fall the Council members provide and prepare hot dogs and hamburgers for the annual parish picnic.
Aluminum can collection--The Council collects aluminum cans for recycling on a continuing basis. Proceeds are to benefit local charities.
Handyman services--Council members offer basic handyman services throughout the year to assist anyone who is unable to accomplish the tasks themselves. Anyone interested in help is asked to conact any Knight.
Thanksgiving project--Each year, the Knights and Good Samaritan parishioners combine to provide meals for those in need. Turkeys and non-perishable foods are distributed in time for Thanksgiving.
Fish fry--During every Lenten season, the Knights provide a series of fish fries.
4th of July, Apple Festival barbeques--The Knights cook and serve pork barbeque sandwiches and plates every year for 4th of July and in downtown Ellijay during the Apple Festival. Proceeds are to benefit a variety of local charities.
CCD Christmas party--All of the CCD classes are guests at a Christmas party provided by the Knights each year between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Food and treats are provided and Santa makes his annual visit.
Each year, Good Samaritan Council participates in Mardi Gras in the Mountains with Georgia Hospice, the Jasper K of C council and the Rotary Club. It will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, from 6:30 to 11 pm. See more about it here.
Flea Market--The Knights help with the annual Flea Market by collecting large items and transporting them to a storage facility. At the time of the event, members deliver those items to the Lions Club. In addition, the council offers food during the event.
Cookie Walk--Each December, Knights assist with taking decorations out of storage, helping to set up and take down decorations and returning them to storage.
